There had been a week.
Nicolai sipped on his steaming coffee, glancing around the dark room again, to be sure.
There was a group talking quietly by a table, far from his place by the wall. A girl was currently checking some notes on a coffee stained paper, and a guy with long, black, shaggy hair stood behind the counter, looking worn and annoyed.
Said guy, apparently called Jareth, was the scariest human being Nicolai had ever met. When the girl he adored so wasnt close, this human could glare at him for what seemed like hours until Adrianna returned. She seemed to bring a smile to everyone in the Coffee shop, even as she was unaware of that herself.
Nicolais eyes travelled back to the dark hot steaming liquid in his cup, blushing furiously as he mouthed her name, something he had learned not long ago.
However, she hadnt entered the shop this day, a fact that was making the vampire nervous. If he had to bear the furious glances Jareth kept aiming at him for much longer he was unsure of what was going to happen.
Sighing silently he put the cup back on the table, rose from the chair, and checked so hed left plenty of money by the still full coffee cup.
He mightnt be able to drink it, but it still smelled wonderful.
He threw one last glance to the counter; being met by enraged sapphire eyes and determinedly opened the door, stepping back out into the cold.
A pitch black sky hovered above his head and heavy snowflakes were slowly falling from it, giving small, white spots to the darkness. All the lights by the streets were on, giving it a dim yellow glow, and not a living being was out.
Nicolai looked at the snow, and so his gaze turned to the window above the entrance to the coffee shop, a silly idea crossing his mind.
He considered his chances of falling down, or being found out before stepping up to the wall, as far away from the door and lower windows as possible. He searched for somewhere to grasp for a moment, without success, but stubborn as he was he grabbed the wooden edges of the door case and heaved himself up, reaching for the window.
When he finally felt the hard, cold glass under his fingers he sighed, and gave the surface a gentle push.
It creaked and gave in, giving his hand some space, and he helped himself in through the protesting window, only to fall onto a hard oak floor with a loud thump and startle the person sitting in the couch, zapping through the different channels on the TV just next to him. This person had beautiful, short brown hair and red highlights.
In the time of a second Nicolai realized he had probably scared the crap out of the person he adored the most and started to apologize, cheeks flushing and eyes teary from embarrassment.
The happy response was the TV remote aimed skillfully at him, hitting him between his eyes.
Jareth!! Adrianna stood up, grabbing the next remote as Nicolai held his head to keep the world from spinning. Come up here! Quick!!
There was the sound of feet in the stairs and one of the two closed doors in the dimly lit room opened.
There was the shaggy man, with a plate full of pie in his left hand and a fork in his right.
The reactions in the room changed dramatically: Nicolai gave a high pitched squeak, Adrianna shrieked something very impolite and Jareth dropped the plate on his foot before charging at the terrified vampire with the fork.
